Monday - Free Day - July 2

The First Free Day

Map in hand, many of us walked down the long, winding hill to find the bus stop. We took the bus and then the tram to Piazza Argentina in the center of the city to meet our tour guides.

	Rosinha Pereira (B) led the group who were “Following the Footsteps of Gailhac” visiting many of the places Gailhac had visited during his trips to Rome.
Rosaleen Sheridan (EAP) led her group, by bus, foot, Metro, and tram to St. Peter’s Basillica, Santa Maria Maggiore, and St. Paul Outside the Walls.
	Eileen Kearns (EAP) led a walking tour of the historic sites of ancient and medieval Rome.

Some of us wandered around Rome, visiting churches and historic sites, shopping, and eating.

 

Others of us stayed at the Chapter House to enjoy a quiet day of rest.
