Prayer in the Novitiate

It is with great joy that the International Formation Community shares with the Institute our experience of international community prayer.

With the richness of diversity of languages and cultures, we participate with enthusiasm and joy in our daily morning prayer where we pray in diverse languages and sing hymns from different countries: Portugal, Ireland, Mozambique, Brazil, United States, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and we sing them in Portuguese, English, and local African languages.

Every Monday we have the “Sources Prayer” in which we listen, interiorize and share the richness of our Constitutions, the History of the Institute, texts of our spirituality and writings of Father Jean Gailhac where we discover that we are called “TO BE OTHER CHRISTS”...

Every Wednesday we have the “Celebration of the Word” in Community, led by a liturgy committee – this has been a good experience.

We animate, with joy, the liturgy in the community of the retired Sisters (Comunidade Coração de Maria) which we celebrate together with them each Monday. This is a joyful responsibility that we have assumed. The Eucharistic Celebration is open to neighbors. We do the readings and songs in different languages.

We have a monthly retreat, prepared in turn by each member of the community, based on various themes of Religious Life, among the themes were: To Be Other Christs, Holiness, To be Prophets Today, Community Life, etc. During these times of retreat we have been challenged and encouraged to give of ourselves more completely to God and our sisters and brothers.
