Rosemary Mwagarezano is our first Zimbabwean to make final Profession in the Zambezi Region. She is 31 years of age and she comes from a family of six children, three boys and three girls. One sister died a few years ago and the other died when they were all young.
Rosemary made her pre-novitiate in Lusaka and her novitiate in Chinhoyi.
She worked
in the clinic in Chivuna the first year after she was professed and then she was missioned to Harare where she trained as a High School Teacher. She is presently living in Chinhoyi and teaching in Sacred Heart School in Banket.
The final profession ceremony took place in her home parish of St. Paul's in Dangamvura (Mutare) on Dec. 31, 2011. The ceremony was very meaningful for all and served as an opportunity for vocation promotion. Joyce Rushinga was the MC at the ceremony and she also comes from that parish.
Members of the youth club from Rosemary's present parish in Chinhoyi were present and there was great participation from St. Paul's Parish and many attended from various other parishes as well. Beautiful singing and drumming could be heard for miles around. The two bishops of The Mutare Diocese attended, as well as a great number of priests. The homily was given by a priest who grew up in St. Paul's Parish and who was a friend of Rosemary's.
Members of the five congregations of women in the Mutare Diocese were present as well as Rosemary's parents, her brothers and many of her extended family. All the members of the Zambezi Region were present except one who was away at studies. It was a wonderful day of thanksgiving and of giving glory to God as we prayed for Rosemary and for the entire congregation that we may always be open to LIFE in abundance for ourselves and for those with whom we work.
