Pere Gailhac

To Celebrate the Spirit of Jean Gailhac

Luisa Maria Almendra In the beginning of November, I was a guide to Béziers, for the second time, for a group of teachers and staff of one of our Schools: Our Lady of Rosary, in Porto, Portugal.
I must say that to enter in the Béziers area is always a moment of great emotion for us RSHM, but also for all those who come with us. There all our words have a special echo, the smiles are spontaneous and full of glances of amazement.

Some members of Porto groupIn this context it was not difficult to let Jean Gailhac and the first sisters speak; and in listening to their dreams, their first decisions, and difficulties I could see all the group trying to realize the ways of FAITH and ZEAL; and the ways to KNOW and to LOVE, to MAKE GOD KNOWN and LOVED. We left Béziers enriched also by the beauty of the house, the art and the joy of a group of sisters that with enormous generosity take Béziers as their place of mission and as a very special place of the Sacred Heart of Mary of all of us.

Luisa Maria Almendra, RSCM

"It is not necessary to say that I loved being in Béziers. It is a pity that we all have to come back, to the usual daily 'M Antonia CarvalhoGood morning! I am so worried, I have so much to do!' But life is like that.
This is why we need to take all the good chances life gives us. Isn't it?... But, on the other hand, Lúcia (Xinha) that came to France so depressed arrived back with a new spirit and ready to smile again.
Thanks to you, we were all enriched. Luisa reminded us that it is still valuable to believe in God, and that we can undoubtedly know persons that are messengers of God on this earth (Jean Gailhac).
In conclusion, I know that I haven't always behaved well in the past, but I feel I washed my soul in Béziers"
