On November l3, 2002 from 3:00-5:00pm, Dr. Renee Harrangue, Director of the Marymount Institute hosted a Birthday Party for Jean Gailhac in the lounge named in his honor. It was a wonderful celebration complete with birthday cakes, candles, balloons and decorations. Each guest received a bookmark as a memento of the RSHM motto "that all may have life." Several hundred members of the LMU Community-administrators, faculty, staff, students and about forty RSHMs attended the celebration. |

Dr. Renee Harrangue spoke eloquently of the legacy of Fr. Gailhac. She concluded her remarks with the unveiling of a beautiful sculpture "OVATION', in honor of Fr. Gailhac and the many women inspired by his charism. The sculpture was created from a block of pink marble from Portugal, and carved in Italy by Lucy Bradanovic Agid, an artist who now resides in PalosVerdes, California. The sculpture, OVATION, will have a permanent place of honor in the Gailhac Community Lounge at LMU. |

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Renee Harrangue and the staff at the Marymount Center for hosting the Gailhac birthday celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the legacy of Fr. Gailhac and the RSHM spirit with our partners in mission at LMU. The LMU Community has been invited to celebrate with us at the annual Liturgy and Reception honoring Fr.Gailhac at Loyola Marymount University which this year will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2003. |
